Meet the Founder

Judy Blades

Life is full of challenges that can shape us into the individuals we are meant to be. These challenges can also help us discover our purpose in life. When we stop asking "Why me?" and start asking "What can I learn from this?" we can transform our challenges into victories.

During my time as a caregiver for my husband, who was battling early-onset Lewy Body Dementia, I gained valuable insight into the importance of my faith, strength, courage, and purpose. This experience inspired me to establish Pleasant Respite Oasis, a service that offers self-care, support, and recognition to family caregivers and aging members of the community.

As a Certified Health & Life Coach with extensive experience in coaching individuals and groups, I specialize in designing and facilitating Health and Wellbeing Programs for diverse communities. My workshops emphasize the importance of self-care, healthy habits, and disease prevention and management, including diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, anxiety, and depression. My goal is to spark joy in the lives of family caregivers and the aging population by creating quality support, life-enhancing activities, and meaningful respite getaways and events.

I hail from Carriacou, the sister island of Grenada in the Caribbean. I am passionate about giving back to the community that raised me.  Through my wellness workshops and events, I aim to remind people that their health is their wealth and that self-care is crucial to enjoying life and a fulfilling retirement.

He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
